Last night Roderick Hill Lodge held their annual remembrance dinner, a white table event for members, their partners, family and friends. After a reception in the beautiful Henderson Lounge, everyone one assembled in the dining room for a fascinating talk from Bro Paul Davies, WBro Mike Davies and Bro Gary Brightman on the armed forces and it links with Freemasonry. Before dinner WBro Mike Davies gave an explanation of the unknown soldiers plate, after which the candle was lit by Bro Gary Brightman. Following the dinner Bro Paul Davies gave the Exhortation before bugler Wayne Hillier gave the Last Post. After observing a minutes silence the bugler then played Reveille. Bro Gary Brightman then gave a sincere Kohima Epitaph followed by a heart felt Flanders Field Poem by Charlotte Burley. The evening was once again a huge success and raised £400 (which included a very generous auction gift from WBro John Phillips) for the local RBL. Pictures of cheque presentation to follow.
